Acquisition of Climate data

 

The following material shows step by step directions on how to get climate data from a weather station using the http://weather.nmsu.edu/ web site.

 

  1. go to http://weather.nmsu.edu/ and click on the NMCC Climate Station Data link.

 

 

 

 

 

  1. Click on the Hourly link

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3. Choose Leyendecker PSC (Plant Science Farm) weather station from the scroll menu.

 

 

 

 

 

 

  1. Select the appropriate date and click Submit.

 

 

 

 

  1. Choose Hour 1200 (the satellite overpass time over Las Cruces area) and select the data required from the relevant fields.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Steps for getting Etr from the same website

 

  1. go to http://weather.nmsu.edu/ and click on the NMCC Climate Station Data link.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. Click on the Irrigation Management and GDD Climate Data Retrieval System link

 

 

 

 

 

 

3. Choose an appropriate weather station from the links on the right, must input January 1 and the year of interest for the start date. Enter the date for which Etr reading is   required as the end date. For example here the end date is set as May 1 2006.

Choose METRIC units and select the “Generate Crop Coefficient and ET” selection item.  Select Alfalfa from the “Present Defaults” scroll menu.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

4.  Click on Retrieve Weather Data button. Select P-M ET (Tall Ref.) cm field from the last row to get the required Etr value. To input the following Etr value in satet, please convert this value to millimeters.
